HP Inc. Bulgaria Project: "40 Days of Doing Good"

Winner

“40 Days of Doing Good” is HP Inc. Bulgaria’s flagship corporate social responsibility initiative, created to inspire employees to take meaningful action in support of the communities around them. As part of the global HP Inspires Giving program, the campaign embodies HP’s long-standing commitment to sustainability, digital equity, and inclusive community development.

The initiative tackles some of today’s most pressing social challenges, including digital exclusion, gaps in youth education, refugee integration, and the needs of marginalized and vulnerable groups such as survivors of violence and the LGBTQI community. Through a combination of volunteering, skills-based support, and nonprofit partnerships, the campaign advances HP’s core values and contributes to building stronger, more resilient communities.

In 2024, over 120 HP Inc. Bulgaria employees participated in the campaign, contributing 1,028 volunteer hours across ten diverse projects. These projects were delivered in collaboration with seven nonprofit organizations, including TimeHeroes, Telerik Academy, Humans in the Loop, and several others. The campaign directly benefited a wide range of groups – from displaced individuals and children from underserved backgrounds to therapy centers, animal shelters, and community-based initiatives.

A defining feature of “40 Days of Doing Good” is its employee-driven nature. Team members shape the campaign from ideation to execution, fostering ownership, creativity, and shared purpose. This bottom-up approach not only strengthens engagement but also ensures the projects meaningfully reflect the passions and expertise of HP employees.

The initiative has also achieved recognition beyond Bulgaria. The project “Digital Careers for Refugees” was honored with HP’s Global BIN There Done That Award, highlighting the innovative and high-impact nature of local efforts.

By embedding social good into everyday corporate culture, “40 Days of Doing Good” creates long-lasting value that extends far beyond the workplace. The campaign cultivates empathy, leadership, and responsibility, reinforcing how collective action – when powered by purpose – can create real change.
