We are pleased to announce the official appointment of the first PMI Bulgaria Chapter Advisory Board, established under the updated Chapter Bylaws and the newly approved Advisory Board Policy.

The introduction of the Advisory Board represents a significant step forward in strengthening our chapter’s governance, ensuring organizational stability, and preserving the invaluable institutional knowledge built over years of service.

An Outstanding Nomination Process

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated in this process. We received 14 nominations, with 9 exceptional candidates proceeding through the full, rigorous selection process. The strong interest and distinguished candidates are a wonderful reflection of the incredible talent, commitment, and leadership within our community.

Meet the Advisory Board Members

In accordance with the nomination process, the Chapter Board of Directors has appointed the following 5 members to serve a term of  2 years:

• Boyana Zahova – Chair of the Advisory Board
• Dimitrina Penelova
• Elena Elenkova
• Mihail Mihaylov
• Stefan Radev

These appointed members bring extensive professional experience, proven track records of service (including previous Board roles), and combined institutional knowledge to their new positions.

The Advisory Board’s Core Purpose

As defined by the PMI Bulgaria Chapter Bylaws, the Advisory Board is a consultative body with no decision-making or implementation authority. Instead, its main objective is to advise and support the Chapter Board of Directors. Their key tasks include:

• Strategic Consulting: Advising the President and the Board of Directors on strategic and operational topics within the yearly management cycle.
• Strategy Support: Ensuring the quality, relevance, and alignment of the Chapter’s strategy with best practices.
• Conflict Resolution: Contributing to Chapter stability by providing a consistent, transparent, and prompt manner to resolve internal conflicts concerning Board members, volunteers, and Chapter members.
• Ethics Advising: Counseling on ethics complaints in accordance with the PMI Code of Ethics before they escalate globally.
