A Project Management career wasn’t always a career. It once was just a hobby that technical people did in their spare time. How did we get from hobby to career and what’s next? Lee Lambert will spare no detail.
This presentation will share the experiences of someone who has been there through it all. More than 45 years of involvement in PMI has exposed the good, the bad and the ugly. We have gone from basic project scheduling to comprehensive integrated project planning to an Agile explosion that has had the impact of a 7.5 quake on the Richter Scale and we aren’t done yet as AI is threatening to change everything (again).

Project success hinges on how we handle ‘the people stuff’. Yet most of us can’t really explain "why people behave as they do". In this interactive, (and quite possibly unexpected!) session Carole will draw on material from her book, Neuroscience for Project Success: why people behave as they do, published in 2022 by the Association for Project Management. You’ll come away with a clear understanding of how the human brain works and new insights into yourself, your projects and your decision making, in a world characterized by stress, chaos and disorder. Powering an Antifragile Project Economy through Actionable Lessons
By Ike Nwankwo MSc, MBA, PMP, PMI Board of Directors

These paradigm shifts are placing marked pressure on organizations and governments to ensure their relevance/resilience and operate with dramatically more agile approaches, even “anti-fragile.” As a result, professionals around the world also need to upgrade their own capabilities and develop the right mix of technical and “power skills” to effectively lead teams and turn ideas into reality.
Please join us as Ike shares engaging stories and actionable lessons on how organizations and individuals alike can prepare to succeed in the future.

Strengthen your organization with PM peer reviews
By Frank Turley PM Career Advisor | PRINCE2 & PM Mentor
Each undesirable outcome harms us to some degree, but it can also teach us how to avoid similar outcomes in the future, which makes us stronger… assuming that it doesn’t kill us!
How much we learn in these cases usually correlates with the pain it causes us. However, not many people are close enough to the source to feel the pain to absorb the information effectively enough and generate usable knowledge from it. The result is that the organization as a whole doesn’t learn as much as it can, and others would make similar mistakes and get similar undesirable outcomes on their own.
One solution to this problem is to bring more people closer to each potential source of pain. They would bring their existing knowledge, which can prevent the problem, and on the other hand, if the problem arises, they would be close enough to the source of pain to learn from it.
This solution can be implemented by having structured, frequent peer reviews for the project management activities. I’ll explain how it can work in a project, what benefits you can expect, and what difficulties you may experience along the way.

How AI can help to make us better project managers
By Marcus Glowasz Enabling Data-Informed Decisions and Change | Author of "Leading Projects with Data"
In an age of digital transformation, data-driven organizations, and last but not least, ChatGPT, the discussion about the use of artificial intelligence in project management is in full swing. Various scenarios and topics like project chatbots, automated reporting, and data collection for better and more informed project decisions, are frequently debated. A common immediate question is how long it takes until those scenarios become reality.
One thing to remember though is that people remain accountable for their projects and decisions made as part of projects. Hence, one important question is how AI can help project management professionals become better in their roles and human-led capabilities by engaging with data-driven methods.
In this presentation, you’ll learn about a different perspective toward AI technology in project management and the steps one should take not only to unlock the capabilities of AI for improved project performance but primarily to improve and advance the capabilities of project management professionals.

[COMMUNITY PANEL] Solving socioeconomic fragilities through communities
[SPONSOR SESSION] How to grow an agile, purpose-driven and sustainable organization step by step
By Teodora Bozheva Enterprise Agility Trainer, Coach, Author/Founder/CEO at Berriprocess Agility
In a world of frequent changes and uncertainty, organizations have to deal effectively with external factors and internal dependencies on limited resources that affect their project performance.
To meet customer expectations sustainably and improve their business results, they need to take fast and adequate decisions as well as to adapt continuously.
The Kanban Project and Portfolio Management (KPPM) model guides organizations in adopting the appropriate practices and mindsets to develop their agility and adaptability.
It complements other project management bodies of knowledge and applies an evolutionary approach to organizational transformation.
Based on examples from real-world companies, Teodora Bozheva will introduce the model and how to use it to develop enterprise agility step by step.

[SPONSOR SESSION] How a Growing Marketing Team Tripled Throughput Using Kanban: Before and After
By Elena Pundjeva Marketing Director at OfficeRND, Ivaylo Gueorguiev Agile Coach and Trainer at European Software Institute CEE
Imagine a team of 3 marketeers growing to 12 in a matter of months. Now imagine how messy and complicated project management suddenly becomes. What has worked for 3 people no longer works for 12. Lack of visibility, too many projects happening simultaneously, a lot of unplanned work coming in, no data or predictability whatsoever! These were just part of the issues we were facing. If that sounds familiar, join us for this presentation, where we will tell the story of how OfficeRnD’s marketing team transformed using Kanban and the Kanbanize software. We will talk about the challenges, process, tooling and results achieved.

The Ball Point Game is a great opportunity to introduce people to basic agile principles and values in a fun and all-senses involving way. It simulates an agile production process. It is basically an analog of the scrum process. The teams of around 10 people each will self-organize and form a process based on the rules provided. The objective is to pass as many balls as possible in the given timeboxes through the team by following certain rules.

[PAID WORKSHOP] Antifragile Leadership: from Managing Projects to Leading People
By Elitsa Boyukova Senior Career Consultant at LHH (Adecco Bulgaria), Mariya Yaneva Career and Leadership Coach at LHH (Adecco Bulgaria)
Great leaders are not born great leaders. They have become such. In today’s infoworld almost every young person interested, or not, in leadership, can recall the great stories of great leaders. In the project economy agile is easy to pronounce and waved like a flag but a skill hard to build and sustain. In this workshop you will not hear about big theories in the management (you can buy McGrath & Bates great pocketbook on that). We will not refer either to the stories of Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs and other exceptional leaders of a kind. These are available on Google. We will talk about daily leadership and making a big difference for your people in any A-to- Z company. The leadership that will make your people come to the office every day, quote you as a role model to their kids and remember you long after they’ve been on your team.

[PAID WORKSHOP] Facing the next Crisis: from Business Agility to Business Resilience
By Bogoy Bogdanov Agile/Lean Coach & Co-Founder of AgilePool, Nikola Bogdanov Agile/Lean Coach & Co-Founder of AgilePool
Huge business disruptions are happening on a daily basis, local and global crisis are coming one after the other, the business climate changes like the wind in the Spring… And we are incapable to successfully adapt to the difficult or challenging life experiences. We are all experiencing the effect of being unprepared.
Long story short, crisis management becomes the next buzz-word. But still most businesses are much more reactive than proactive. So, what is the difference between ending up stronger and suffering from being prepared and even taking advantage of the opportunities?
In the new normal with the help of Agile, we can achieve resilience and this could even become a key competitive advantage for our business. In this workshop we will demonstrate concrete practical activities and techniques which can make the difference and make us stronger and prepared for facing crisis.
